Father’s Day Event
Is there anything that shouts “Father’s Day” like a day-long barbeque in the sun? The staff, alumni, and clients at His House enjoyed Father’s Day in style this June, sharing celebratory times with the folks we’ve met helping fight addiction over the years. Events like these are highlights for us; the sense of healing and community that they bring makes what we do – assisting men in recovery – really strike home. Learn more about our community events.
A Special Barbeque
Our own Danny hit the grill, preparing over 40 pounds of his special barbequed chicken. The grill was our biggest hit yet; there were more requests for seconds than we’ve ever had before. No one could take their eyes off the chicken, no matter what Danny’s expression might say! Discover more about our culinary programs.
Delicious Sides
Of course, chicken alone does not a barbeque make, so Kenneth came through with his famous ranch beans, and Andres made the coleslaw. The beans were also a blockbuster – some people even asked for the recipe. For more tasty recipes, visit our recipe page.
A Day to Remember
The weather was great at Lytle Creek, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the assembled group was positive. Sometimes it takes the blue sky and communal spirit to remind us how positivity and faith can work miracles. We’re so proud that we’ve helped our alumni and clients reclaim their lives and grow as individuals. Learn more about our recovery stories.
Upcoming Event
His and Her House welcomes those closest to us – our staff, clients, alumni, and their families – to the next scheduled event, the French Dip Dinner on August 13th. It’s another opportunity to get some good food, good times, and good company with us, and another chance to show the power of community and positivity for those closest to us. Check out our upcoming events.
